This will establish the position of Children’s Mental Health Ombudsman in the Office of the Child Advocate. The role of the ombudsman will be to monitor and ensure compliance with relevant child mental health statutes, regulations, rules, and policies and receive, investigate, and resolve complaints filed on behalf of a child.
On December 5th, the Campaign voiced support for the creation of the Children's Mental Health Ombudsman at a public hearing convened by the Joint Committee on Financial Services. Courtney Chelo (CMHC Campaign Manager), Marisol Garcia (Director, Health Law Advocates), and Maria Mossaides (Massachusetts Child Advocate) offered testimony.
