School-Based Behavioral Health Policy Project
The Children’s Mental Health Campaign, along with other prominent leaders in behavioral health, spearheaded a project focused on school-based behavioral health (SBBH) in Massachusetts with financial support from the CF Adams Charitable Trust. The goals of the project were to share essential components and models of SBBH and improve equitable access to services and support for all students across the state. The project convened educators, advocates, school leaders, providers, caregivers, students, and leaders in the girl to make equity-informed recommendations for services across the three tiers of intervention (promotion and prevention, early intervention, and targeted intervention). In 2023, The School-Based Behavioral Health Report was released.
At the end of 2023, CMHC and the BIRCh Project team at UMass hosted the The School-Based Behavioral Health Summit. Together, attendees strategized creative solutions and actionable next steps for providing comprehensive behavioral health services and support in all schools across the Commonwealth.
